Does anyone have a clue when the prices are going to drop on this tech? Blue Ray players still selling around $1000, HD-DVD players are still around $500. I'm not buying any of this till we're in the $150-$200 range. The prices haven't budged in months. I guess I'm spoiled by the PC market.

That's what got me looking again. I saw MS will be making a HD-DVD device available for $170 to addon to the XBox360. So, why would anyone blow $1000 on a standalone player when they could grab a PS3 for a few hundred dollars cheaper. I don't think they have much choice but to drop those prices soon.

Question:

What do you need all of that storage capacity for anyway?

hehe

Actually, I just want a player for now. The standard DVD's are good enough for 'storing' at this time ;)

Well I can tell you that both HD-DVD and Blue Ray will look fantastic on your Sony.
