Just checked out the comments at the bottom of that page. Some HL references made me crack up.

Here is a live web cam that you can use to monitor the LHC during the tests:

Thanks for posting this. Its fascinating and I am glad we live in this time to see the answers revealed.  I grew up near Fermilab and flew over it teaching flying many times. In high school we all got hammered down by the river, boarded the bus and went to the Fermilab field trip.  We were well behaved until the Physicist said there were protons, nuetrons and HARDONS!  We laughed him out of there for that.

In the article they say it went online and then had an electrical magnet connection error and leaked the liquid helium all over the tunnel. It wont open up again until summer because....it will take 2 months just to warm up enough to repair then they have to cool it back down again.

I did not know and am thrilled to learn they accelerate the tiny particle to 99.9999% the speed of light and have 4 crossovers involving the parallel tracks that result in eventual observed collisions. Very cool.

I work with a bunch of rocket scientists and I think the ground systems are more complicated than our constellation of maneuverable imaging satellite.  I have been a part of 100 engineers stumped for a week at a time when things go wrong.  This I think is my limit. What they do with these coliders is way beyond my brainpower.

Cool concept and implementation.

Yes, but does it open a portal to a hell-like dimension?
