Another Stormshadow post from the previous forums
I made one of these lists for q3, but I figured that in order for this to be a true LE forum, I should really put in the effort to support multiple games.
GTKradiant or SDradiant (level creation and editing): http://www.qeradiant.com
q3map2 (compiling): http://www.shaderlab.com
Easygen and Easygen ET template (terrain creation and editing): http://digilander.libero.it/ilbanca/files_easygen.htm
ET level designers reference manual: http://www.planetquake.com/simland/ldr1_1/default.htm
Basic map requirements: http://www.splashdamage.com/index.php?n ... pic&t=2425
Map-making for first timers (n00bs!): http://www.splashdamage.com/index.php?n ... pic&t=2496
WolfensteinX tutorials (ET and RTCW): http://www.wolfensteinx.com/surface/tutorials.html
Marko's tutorials (ET and RTCW): http://www.swat-clan.com/marko/mapping.html
Command post tutorial: http://www.splashdamage.com/index.php?n ... pic&t=2976
Decent Easygen tutorial: http://www.planetwolfenstein.com/tramde ... ygen2.html
Drakir's tutorials: http://www.drakir.tk
Note: all 3rd party textures listed in the LE resources for Q3 thread can be used with ET.
Huge set of photorealistic textures (may require editing): http://www.planetquake.com/berneyboy
Shaderlabs realistic textures: http://www.shaderlab.com
Well organized set of photorealistic textures: http://astronomy.swin.edu.au/~pbourke/texture/
See the q3 resource thread for more texture sites.
Bill Brooks site: http://fps.brainerd.net
Drakirs site (TONS of prefabs): http://www.drakir.tk
Splash Damage forums: http://www.splashdamage.com/forums
Marko's forums: http://swat-clan.com/marko/forums/
Drakir's forums: http://pub.alxnet.com/forum?id=1098353
Ok, this is an abbreviated list of helpful links. For a more complete list, check out this thread over at splash damage (from which a few of these links were stolen ): http://www.splashdamage.com/index.php?n ... pic&t=1710
The list is very complete, but its a bit tough to navigate, since there is just so much info (and a few dead links). Keep in mind, that if you have a problem, chances are, someone has had that same problem before. Id encourage using the search function on the Splash Damage forum or on any of the other forums to find quick answers.
Do you want a resource site listed that I didnt list? Reply in this thread or pm me the link and ill add it hopefully soon.
