Al of a sudden my Q3 display is acting funky.

Everything is square........When I shoot a rocket, the trail is a bunch of squares. Plasma gun...........OMG.......

Can't find the fix.

This all started after I D/L a bunch of maps.

Remove the bunch of maps. Test - verify back to normal.

Put some of the maps back in. Test again.

Repeat until offending map is found.

Delete it.

Summary, somebody screwed up packing or using resources in their pk3 and it is causing conflicts that the game engine cannot resolve.

As usual, Hex, you nailed it on the head! The offending map is anodm2.pk3. I grabbed this off the Mile High site so you may not want to D/L it. :shock:

Well. And then in looking into the pk3 I can't see how/why it does it. Nothing appears to be bad/wrong. But when I put in into my base, the same thing happens. Thanks for the headsup, I go pull it off the ftpsite.

Since it seems like you have the downloading bug... I'm sure youve been to lvlworld.com. You've seen the MHGaming download links there... Well (shhh ancient chineeesey secret) you can anon ftp directly to that download repository.

Holy crap hex....I thought I had almost every map made.....that beats mine by about 40 times.

I saved it in my favorites in case I ever need a map....I'm sure it will be there.

I've found that at over 250 maps, my config acts weird, as if the in-memory
vars were being stepped on.

Strip a few maps off, and play acts normal.

Please load Real VNC so we can collaborate on opening up *ONLY* the quake port on your Q3 server.

I think Ping 0 is where you want to be now, we can relax it later when your bitch stomping me in the alley way.
