I was browsing New Egg for deals on PC games, and I found some interesting prices, as opposed to Steam. All of the games listed below feature free shipping.

Brink $19.99 - thirty dollars less than Steam
Just Cause 2 9.99 - $10.00 less than Steam
DNF $34.99 - $5.00 less than Steam
Portal 2 $27.99 - $2.00 less than Steam
COD MW 2 $27.99 - $2.00 less than Steam
Dead Space 2 $27.99 - $2.00 less than Steam
Torchlight $9.99 - $5.00 less than Steam
Stalker call of Pripyat $8.99 - $9.00 less than Steam
Far Cry 2 $8.05 - $11.95 less than Steam.
Mass Effect 2 $15.12 - about $5.00 less than Steam
MOH airborne $6.99 - $3.00 less than Steam.
Fear 3 pre order $46.99 - $3.00 less than Steam

I own seven of these, but I might buy Brink from New Egg.

20 dollars for Brink? man I would buy it at that price and I already own 2 copies one for me and one for my son.

However I would like to have the PC version for goofing around and maybe even creating a map.

Having a tough time finding a match online with Brink. I set my filter to show games with 8+ players and ping less than 150. 3 servers appear in the 120-150 range and they timeout when I try to connect.

PC version? I've heard that too I'm glad I got the 360 version I find good games all the time, but yea I don't think the community will be anywhere near what Quake was. It'll be closer to ET:Quake Wars

which oddly enough is still our theme on this site. ;)

Oddly enough? Which game are you referring to?

Quake or ET Quake wars?

In my opinion, this site and our community here has changed over the years to include comments on all of the current console (ouch!) and PC games (yes!). And that is a good thing.

Quake 1, Quake 2, and Quake 3, are all still being played all over the world, and with the advent of Quake Live, the worldwide tournaments for pro gamers still use Quake 3 as the game of choice for competitive play for big bucks in prizes.

So, it is fitting IMHO, that this site retain it's theme.

OK, Keen, you win.

But have you looked at the symbol at the top of this page, lately.

It stands for the burial-grounds, and maybe we should think of this site as a gamers forum, instead of a site with one theme.

Here's to all of the people who have contributed to it over the years, especially the founder dmschaos.

BTW, I just ordered Brink from New Egg.

Oh it wasn't meant as anything other than an observation and I agree it's always been a place we can come speak freely about all the games we've been playing. :)

thx for the game prices. I am around the corner from an upgrade, so Brink and Portal 2 will be on my list. I'll p/u Dead Space 2 on xbox since it's a "third person shooter"
