Yup, it takes about 3-4 clicks to buy a game on STEAM. That spells trouble for my checking account. That's why I usually look/wait for the deals.

Brink is a tough game. Fun though. Steep learning curve, but once you get over the hump it seems like great fun. I'm not quite over the hump yet :) Most think it will scare the average console gamer back to CoD.

So far, I think ETQW was a greater game, but this isn't bad at all.

Anyone still play ETQW? I really liked it, I just thought the community fell apart too quickly...

I just upgraded my hard drive in my gaming pc from a 320 gig to a 1 terrabyte drive because I was running out of space for my games.

I have it set up to dual boot win xp and win 7 with 2 equal 500 gig partitions.

I run the older games on xp, and the newer ones on win 7.

So, two days ago I reloded ETQW on the win xp partition and played it for about an hour on single player to get the feel of it again and sort out my controls and settings.

There are still 91 servers that pop up in the server browser.

I plan to try online play soon to see how it goes.

Haven't played ETQW in a while. Was having a tough time finding a fun game for a while. Seemed like teams were always stacked one way or the other.

I still think SplashDamage was short-sighted with the stats thing. Not letting custom maps in on the stat counts pretty much killed any chance of custom content becoming popular. And since they obviously had no plans for any more content releases, paid or unpaid...that was pretty much the death-knell. That pretty much left only the clans and competitive players left to play. Anyone playing it casually was sick of the maps in 6 months.

Sorry. A little long winded. Just annoys me how they pretty much ditched such a great game after it was released. I see they have a content release due for Brink in June or something, so maybe they've learned a thing or two.

I fired it up just before BRINK came out to remind myself what it was like. There's no vehicles in BRINK but the objective wheel is based on the one in ETQW. I had it installed on my system just hadn't fired it up in a while.

so what sort of pc did you upgrade there to finko?

my latest build is p67-ud3-b3 sandy bridge with a i7 2600k (multiplier unlocked) cpu, 8 gigs of ram and a gtx 570, would like to get a solid state ssd drive but still holding out on that one, big sata hd's are just so cheap!

I figure Bulletstorm is in my future. Duke too...if they ever release it.

Stranger Bulletstorm was not bad but it started to get repetitive after a while. Still very fun!

I pre ordered it, and it should be here before the weekend. I'll let you all know if I like it or not.

From the reviews, it looks pretty bad so far.

Maybe I should have gotten Brink instead.

I just installed it and I am "preparing myself" to play it for the first time.

To any of you who do not like Steam, be warned - you have to either have an active Steam account, or sign up for one in order to play the game, and all updates appear to be controlled by Steam.

This is ok with me, since I have an active Steam account, and this will allow me to play the game on any PC of my choice, just like any other Steam game.

I will let you all know how it goes in the next few days.

ALICE!!!: Madness Returns

Absolutely gorgeous in spots. Still going on the first run-through. For PC there was definitely a learning curve about controls. Control is third person (like the original Alice). Also some ini file hacking you need to do in order to get certain things to work (how the hell an organization like EA manages to screw up EVERY PC RELEASE THEY DO is beyond me...)

Anyway, it's purdy.

The best thing I can say about DNF, is that the graphics are better than the original Duke Nukem 3d Atomic edition.

It should appeal to most 18 year old boys, though.
