Spyder and I will be playing on a private server at 9 EST tonight. Not sure of the format but probably CA or FFA to start. If we get enough players perhaps a change to freeze tag.

In any event - send a friend invite to unisaw or bgc spyder and we can invite you to the server or however tf this works.

Oops - it is QuakeCon time, and there is a live feed of a match going on right now (8:30 PM EST)

They are having serious lag problems, and network glitches at this time.

I don't know if we are going to be having a great time playing right now.

hmmmm. You don't need pro and I can invite anyone (I think up to six non-pro members). We'll fugure this out.

GGZ Spyder. I'm off to NH for the weekend in the morning so time was limited as I must pack and heed SWMBO>

Unisaw and Spyder ,,

Starting a server up is like this :-

1 Match location, choose one near you

2 match visability, wether you want to make it private or public

3 Password, you can choose one if you wish, but you dont have to

4 instagib mode, yes or no ..........

5 Spawn Protection, i leave this as yes, i think would make game a bit fairer

Select 1 or 2 arenas, (you can vote any ingame you want to play of the maps for the gametype)

Start the match

go into the game and come out of fullscreen

Press escape which gives you a screen with friends on the right, right click on the players you wish to invite and they should be able to join

go to "return to match" and "play in full screen"

You are allowed up to 3 friends on any match who are "standard players"

Hope this helps

That's helpful. I thought you had to have a PW. Also - how do you name the server?

I've been playing Freeze Tag and doing an instagib freeze tag sounds like fun.

No Unisaw, you dont have to have a password server unless you maybe make it public

The name of the server is your nick :)

Does anyone have a list of what the differences between Quake Live and Quake III Arena are. As far as what makes it better or more improved over the original?

Is the main attraction for those of us who purchased "Pro" because of the community playing it?

Or is it that the game has been improved upon?

Really theres not a lot, they have capped a few of the config settings, but apart from that its just the web browser really....

Pro is so i can get some of my friends who cant afford the premium or pro, or when we want a private server to play on.

Plus also you dont actuaqlly have to "run" the server, so its cheaper in a way.

The biggest fault imo is the lack of custom content.

Right - I find quakelive every bit as much as fun as the old days, minus only the maplist.
