Just rented the movie the other day. Not that they're related. But I was surprised I actually kind of liked it.

hey Hex, I'm checking that out for sure! Thanks.

Keen, I still havent checked out that new Alice movie. I dunno...the whole Tim Burton and Johnny Dep thing is really getting old for me. I do have it in my Netflix queue though, so I'll see it eventually.

hex, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they do all the 3D for the Alice movie post production? I was under the impression they were jumping on the Avatar bandwagon, and it was added after the movie had been filmed. This is why I skipped it when it was in the theaters.

What made Avatar so unique and incredible to me, was how it was planned from the beginning to be a 3D movie. the way it was filmed using the new 3D cameras, and how the entire filming process was built around this movie being in 3D just set it apart from all the rest imo. I love how it just added so much depth, with out resorting to stupid 3d tricks. If I'm wrong about Alice and the 3D was anything like Avatar, I'm sorry I missed it.

To me the recent 3D movies haven't been better or worse based on their implementation or interpretation of 3D tech. It's all amazing.

It is a great retelling of the story. Sorry you missed it in the theater... Beyond the first 20 minutes or so, the movie and the 3d glasses tricked me into thinking I was having a great frickin time watching it... Be it pre or post 3D puttage innage. I walked out exactly as expected, literally stunned, amazed and pleased.

Best movie I'd seen since... well... Avatar. Also IMAX and 3D... (Next time you're in a 3D movie, look through the glasses backwards.)

I am definitely in favor of the 3D IMAX movement.

I haven't seen Alice, and I probably won't. It just doesn't appeal to me, from what I have seen of the previews.

Avatar is absolutely the best movie I have ever seen, bar none, imho.

I bought Avatar the game when steam was having their big sale, and so far it is pretty good.

BTW, 3D tv's and dvd's are coming soon at reasonable prices.

I cant be bothered to watch anything that requires me wearing glasses for hours on end. Its a comfort thing.

That being said, Alice the game looks sweet! I remember the original American McGee's Alice and it was truly amazing conceptually and visually. I will be keeping my eyes on this.

Avatar is worth the time :) I dunno bout any other movies though.

The Alice game has certainly peeked my interest. I'll check that out for sure.

Oh yah, I'm skipping out on the 3D tv's for sure. Seems like more of a gimmick then anything else. I just really liked how well it was done in Avatar, and on the big screen. I'll likely not see another 3D movie until Avatar is re-released this fall...then not again until it's sequel. :)
