Looks cool, but I have some serious doubts about it, even on my 15mbit connection.

Yeah, big difference between a demo on a lan and the internet, heh. I can't imagine that it will suck though. They seem pretty aware of the hurdles and it wouldn't make any sense at all to release it unless they're cleared to some extent.

In any case, whether it happens now or 5-10 years later, I like the trend.

It's official and goes live June 17th. First 25,000 registrations get 3 months of service waived. 14.95 / month, but that doesn't get you any games..just the service. You still have to pay for or rent the games, but basically no installation and you're supposed to be able to run the latest HD games instantly after purchase with a 5 mbit connection and even with a shit video card. 1.5 mbit gets you SD resolution. Includes multiplayer, recording game clips, chat, community, ability to try demos etc.

Got that right ;/ Who isn't these days? Thinking of dumping some of the monthly services I'm paying for.

Netflix
XM Radio
Tivo
WoW
Don't get me started on the cell phone bill....

Hm, netflix is worth the money :) I'm actually going to pick up a Roku soon so I can stream netflix in my bedroom. Roku just added a bunch of apps too, so now Amazon, Youtube, and a ton of other content providers can stream to it.

NP Twiz!

I still want to try it, but they're requiring a 5mbit connection, and my DSL caps out at a little less than 3 ;/
