Hey.. GREAT new forum Chaos!

Did you all hear about the cornflake going for over $200,000 on eBay?  I was watching it.. thinking of buying it... why did it get pulled?  I was looking forward to seeing how much some idiot was going to pay for it.

Didnt see it....and glad I didnt.

See, all you have to do is find something out of the ordinary, that resembles something in the ordinary...and you can post it up on flea-bay,and maybe get rich for no reason.

I used to buy and sell a bit of jetski parts on fleabay, but they have gotten a little out of touch with reality with their fee's,and then the paypal fee's on top of that. Not only that, but if you are bidding on something you really need, then some twirp comes and snags it at the last second....irritates me.

Hey Sly, thanks for the compliment.

I didnt see that cornflake either, but it doesnt surprise me that it was bid that high. Usually those bids never actually end up with real money being exchanged...but I wouldnt mind making a few hundred grand off a piece of cereal :)

MSNBC.com is reporting that the cornflake was removed from bidding due to it being a food item.

The sellers (two sisters located in Chicago) re-instated the bidding by offering "a coupon redeemable for the flake".

The cornflake was unique because it resembled a map if Illinois.

It sold for 1,350 dollars.

Wow, I need to go and look through my cereal boxes.  Sounds like selling garbage on Ebay can be pretty lucrative.

I hope it gets smashed in transit.

Hi Finko:

The person who bought it runs some kind of museum of nutty stuff like this.

He is going to send a courier to pick the flake up, because that happened to him with another item he bought a while ago.
