Hey.. I heard (from a student.. not the most reliable source).. that they make a thing that contains a couple 'blank' cartridges and a bunch of CD's with 1800 games on it for the gameboy advance.

True?

Is this legit? A illegal device? Rumor?

OK.. I figured it out. It's NOT a real product like I thought.. It's a 'buy a special RAM cartridge' and then use bit torrent to get the games. Not legit after all.

I have an emulator called VisualBoy Advance that lets me play gb and gba roms on my PC. I got it mainly for my son. So I may try that since i have LOTS of roms.

I am really surprised that the MAME sites are still around.

Many years ago, (I think it was in the 486 era), I was in a flea market in Florida, and a guy was selling a cd rom disk with emulation software and 100 games that had been copied from the rom chips in video arcade games like Galaga, Missle Command, Dig Dug, etc, and could be played on a PC.

I guess that the games on rom were too old to cause the companies who programmed them originally to pursue lawsuits against the perpetrators of this thievery.
